Home Insurance? Are you covered?
We have many combined years’ experience of arranging insurance for property and personal possessions. As we are arranging your mortgage we are also able to organise most types of insurance for you.
Home insurance cover comes in three parts – buildings insurance, contents insurance or combined buildings and contents cover. You can choose either of these based on your individual needs.
Buildings insurance, in case your home is damaged or destroyed. It covers the structure of your home (roof, walls & windows) as well as permanent fixtures and fittings (such as baths, toilets, fitted kitchens). The amount of cover you need is the rebuilding cost of your home. This includes the cost of demolition (which may be needed after fire, for instance) clearing the site, architects and other professional fees. Contents insurance, in case your possessions are lost or broken. This insurance covers items inside your home. Policies can also include accidental damage cover, but you may have to pay extra. This extends cover to include accidental breakages and damage to items such as iPhone’s, iPad’s or Bicycles. Generally if you purchased a combined policy from the same insurer, it can often be cheaper than getting two separate policies. | Is it necessary to have home insurance? If you’re a homeowner, most mortgage lenders insist you have buildings cover in place to protect their investment. Above all your trust is extremely precious to us. The providers we work with have been carefully selected for their reliability, understanding and integrity. We work in conjunction with companies such as Legal & General and PaymentShield to name but a few and because we are an intermediary we often receive exclusive rates on premiums therefore passing the saving onto you. |
